BEHIND THE SEAMS

  I am Brittne' Woodside, emerging fashion designer and creator of Brittne' Tamika Designs.  

My journey into fashion design was founded by being bored at home with nothing to do.  I phoned my mother one day asking her to buy me a sewing machine and from that day, fashion became me. 

Since 2010, I have been working diligently to improve my designs and the way I sew. Being self-taught was not only difficult but discouraging at the same time. What I now know of fashion designing was through trial and error.  Yes, alot of fabric wasted and even a few tears, but, I still managed to push myself and pass those obstacles.

The main reason why I design is because it takes all the stress from the real world away.  It's like I'm in my own zone with peace and tranquility.

During the year 2012, I decided to turn my hobby into a full-time career.  This then made me push myself beyond limits to get where I am now.  Countless hours researching, sketching, observing and the days spent watching Project Runway marathons factored in my dream coming true.

As I now step into the fashion world globally, I wish to impact those who not only have a dream but to show them that a dream can be reality if only you work for  it.
